PS 50, New York
HENGE was part of a Schoolyards to Playgrounds project at Trust for Public Land in Oct 2010. PS 50 in Queens, New York City had an asphalt lot next to their school, but no playground. The TPL process involved inviting school children to measure, sketche, and design their future playground. Among their top 10 requests was a ping pong table!
TPL's program allows for open access by the public to use the playground after school hours.
So, if you've just hopped off the plane, are heading back from grey JFK, and need to get rid of those aches in your knees, consider dropping by the colorful playground at 14326 101st Avenue for a game of table tennis!
